1. First things first, make your Twitter name relevant to your business name or any keywords that you want to target.
2. Create a professional appearance, therefore take a bit of time and create a custom background, and inlcude your company logo. If you are unable to design your own then there are plenty of templates out there that can easily be altered.
3. Add information about your company in the Bio section, so people can read what you are all about.
4. It is important to have a link that takes people directly to your website.
5. Make yourself easy to contact – include all your contact information on your Twitter page, maybe even on your custom background.
6. Do not follow people for the sake of following. Only follow people that you consider relevant to your business or product. It is better to have quality rather than quantity.
7. If your company has more than one niche, then setup a different Twitter account for each niche.
8. Do not immediately send people affiliate links to your follows the minute they start to follow you. It is important to build up trust and authority and interact with them.
